Ikpeazu hails Biden on Akunna Cook s appointment on US, African affairs

Daily Post Nigeria Published Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has congratulated Akunna Cook, on her recent appointment as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs by President Joe Biden in the United States. The Governor in a congratulatory message on his Twitter account on Saturday said he feels highly elated & proud as a Governor of one of the most enterprising people on earth who are recognized for their hard work globally. He said explained that the US needed mostly experienced hands to guide it in its relationship with Africa as well as its policies as it concerns the continent.

ASUSS: Secondary school teachers hail FG for recognition as legal trade union

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Academic Staff Union of Secondary School (ASUSS), has commended the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, for finally granting recognition to the trade union despite the alleged virulent deregistration plot against it by rival unions. ASUSS also saluted the Supreme Court of Nigeria, for proving the judiciary, the last hope of the common man, by upholding its appeal in a judgment delivered on 15th January 2021, where it held that ASUSS’ registration didn’t contravene the trade union statutes. This was contained in a statement titled: ‘A woeful Cry; Agony of a loser’ signed by ASUSS National Secretary, Com Sola Adigun and made available to journalists, in Ado Ekiti, on Saturday.

Akinwale Aboluwade  The Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Oyo State Wing has urged its members, both in primary and secondary schools, to remain calm barring the recent decision of the Supreme Court on the Union’s leadership matter. The NUT said, on Friday that it still remains the only recognised and registered trade union that is empowered by the Trade Union Act to unionize teachers both in primary and secondary schools in the country. A statement which was jointly signed by the NUT Chairman and Secretary, Mr Tojuade Adedoyin and Muhammed  Abudllahi, respectively admonished the general public to disregard the rumour that judgment has been delivered in favour of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary School.
