The girls are athletes so for that to be possibly taken away from us, we were devastated. Reporter as districts grapple with the costs of implementing cheer as a sport, luhsd superintendent proposed cutting traditional cheer and implementing stunt cheer. It alarmed School Board Member ray valverde. Dont cut Something Else that has been successful in that district for years. Reporter traditional sideline cheer is more inclusive because more students can participate. Stunt teams are smaller. Stunt teams are very small. They allow up to 30 girls but usually theyre not that big at all. Theyre usually around 20 so less girls would be able to be on the team. Right now you can see they have a heavy duty tow truck beyond that truck with the flashing lights, but there is some airbags that they have underneath the trailer of this 18wheeler and they are trying to inflate those airbags to help the tow truck pull that vehicle up right.
