The destruction of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)’s virtual
Second Life island in 2007 was considered an act of terrorism.
“Miscreants have hacked into the ABC Island inside the virtual reality world of
Second Life, reducing the two-month-old facility to rubble,” the Sydney Morning Herald’s Stephen Hutcheon wrote.
Everything on the island had been razed except for a digital transmission tower.
