Steeple Concerts at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Westfield will present a live online solo recital by celebrated harpist Bridget Kibbey on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. Performed for the general streaming public, Ms. Kibbey’s eclectic program will include music by Albéniz, D’Rivera, Grandjany, and Valera from the 20th and 21st centuries, together with selections from J.S. Ames Town & Gown planned to have the Merz Trio perform in Ames in honor of German composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s birthday, but the coronavirus pandemic foiled those plans. Instead, the trio has created “a special program, beautifully video-recorded in the New England Conservatory s renowned and historic Jordan Hall,” according to a news release.
“Beethoven s birthday is traditionally celebrated on Dec. 16, and this year marks 250 years,” a news release read. “To honor this anniversary, Ames Town & Gown presents the Merz Trio, Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 16-18, direct from Boston.”
