Human rights and pro-democracy group, Take It Back Movement (TIB), Oyo State chapter has accused security operatives of planning to arrest its coordinator, Comrade Solomon Emiola over Wednesday’s protest against the paucity of naira notes. According to a statement by a member of the group, Dimeji Salako, a Nigerian Army officer identified as Major U.K Egbo during the protest, threatened that he would have arrested Emiola if not for the number of people present there.
Human rights and pro-democracy group, Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has described the restrictions and guidelines on dress and posture for students by the Polytechnic of Ibadan (Poly Ibadan), Oyo State as irresponsible. The group in a solidarity statement signed by its Oyo State Coordinator, Comrade Solomon Emiola and Secretary, Comrade Dimeji Salako, said that it was surprised to notice that the institution threatened to suspend students for colouring their hair, drawing tattoos, braiding hair or sitting on each other's laps.
