Head, Media and Enlightenment of FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Taskforce, Comrade Ikharo Attah, who admitted being inundated with such negative reports, warned the public to be wary of such criminal elements parading themselves as agents of the government.
While he debunked the rumours that members of his task force were involved in the criminal act, Mr Attah stated that the FCT Police Command has launched a manhunt for the criminal syndicate.

Officials of the FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Taskforce are in the manhunt for fraudsters, who purportedly move around harassing and extorting money from event planners and other residents, in guise of COVID-19 enforcement in Abuja. Making this disclosure yesterday, Head, Media and Enlightenment of FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Taskforce, Comrade Ikharo Attah warned the public to be wary of such criminal elements who parade themselves as agents of government, but are not. Attah while debunking the rumours that members of his Taskforce were involved in the criminal act, as neither the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 nor the FCTA have authorised anyone to harass or penalise violators of the safety guidelines.

The Federal Capital Territory FCT Ministerial Enforcement Taskforce on COVID-19 Regulations has warned school teachers in Abuja against flouting the COVID-19 safety protocols, vowing to arrest and prosecute defaulters.
Speaking after assessing the level of compliance across some schools in the territory, Head, Media and Enlightenment of the taskforce, Comrade Ikharo Attah decried a situation where school teachers grossly violated the guidelines, while students fully complied.
“What we saw was very strong compliance by the students, but very sadly, school workers, teachers, some security men and non-teaching staff believed that the compliance was strictly and only for students.

No fewer than four parks and gardens were sealed off yesterday by authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and about 12 persons arraigned in court over COVID-19 safety violations. It was gathered that the order to seal off the four gardens for a period of two weeks was issued by the FCT Mobile Court, after contravening PTF COVID-19 regulations, regarding operation of bars, night clubs, gardens and the likes. Speaking to newsmen after the seal-off exercise, Head, Media and Enlightenment of the FCT COVID-19 Taskforce, Comrade Ikharo Attah disclosed that about 12 persons earlier arrested at the four gardens very late Sunday night.
