What we do, we try to get the word out the the regional nonprofits to join up. A way to give them increased reach on this particular day and really allow them to show case the work they do in the community. 24 hour marathon of giving . Absolutely. That is important because it builds momentum. It builds excitement and it really helps folks kind of galvanize around giving in a time of year that organizations dont give donations. So were headed into the summer so this is your low season. It is. Almost i wont say all, but most nonprofits have a june 30th budget year. So its going to help this Organization Give an added boost. I felt like i should be branded since were talking about Brand Awareness. Which leads into a great first question. Tell me about the new branding initiative thats going on with ywca. Its actually a Brand Awareness campaign because, as you said, we havent changed our mission to eliminate racism and empower women has been the same for over 150 years, but we feel its important to let the world know that were committed to that. Whats been the response . The response has been amazing. You know, so many people arent aware of the depth and breadth of the services we provide from early childcare all the way to senior care, from Domestic Violence services to job training. We provide so Many Services for women, but a lot of people are not aware of it despite the fact that we have been doing this for over 150 years. Now, when we talk about the timing, what do you say to people who say, well, dara, why now . What brought it about now . Well, when you think about the fact that we have been doing th

Rue auto withi5u home equity and 401 k s and losing jobs, everything happening in the great÷ recession, its beginning to come back. Fewer young people are working. Ii au want to say, the first thought that came to my mind is thats because the folks in theaf taking the jobs now attanc fastfood restaurants. Weve go the yearly deficit and it seems the challenge is for us to make sure that whoever needs a job that pays well will have one job to raise their family. I am proud henry ford had the right idea that despite every bettys criticism at the time they thought he was crazy to pay folks top dollar what i hear from our manufacturers in michigan and right now with hundreds of jobs they said we need skilled people to match the jobs. Housing has been completed and residents are now moved in. It shares the space with st. Anthonys. And i happened to pay a visit there, and met some the residents. They have a wonderful portrait of mrs. Hale in the lobby and i think mrs. Hale would be very proud of the work that has been completed in that living space. Regarding our excuse me our committee reports. We submitted a letter to sacramento, to the California Senior Legislature letting them know the space will be filled that was vacated by mrs. Campbell and will hold that position until october, 2015. Also we continue to recruit for our Membership Committee. The chairperson mrs. Russo was not there, but were continuing to recruit for the Membership Committee and that is an ongoing process and our site visits continue and well have an update at the january meeting. The Advisory Council will not meet in december because of the holidays. So well be giving a report i will be giving a report in january. Also at that particular meet
Of the six major areas focused on adults and seniors. And those were in the area of Health Care Reform and medical, aging and Adult Services and longterm care and im not going spend time on longterm care, because there is a report after mine. And selfsufficientcy for seniors and persons with disabilities. Medical, concerned about funding with the Affordable Care act. Numbers have grown, so we need to look at funding and making sure that the systems are updated and all of the support programs. A lot of them dont have legislation with them yet. So well look at them again. And again ensuring that seniors and persons with disabilities are identified during the implementation process with the Affordable Care act and as we move through this second round of signups. And then homeless and atrisk populations, and service advocates. Well be monitoring those through the year. Aging and Adult Services, a priority and concern is protective services and looking for an increase in caseworker, mandate
