Microsoft is buying Nuance Communications to supercharge its healthcare services, the companies announced on Monday.
The deal, which is expected to close by the end of 2021, is the second-largest in Microsoft s history after LinkedIn, valued at $16 billion, or $19.7 billion counting Nuance s debt. Nuance is best known for its conversational AI tools, one of which records and transcribes doctors conversations with patients, creating notes that can go straight into people s existing medical records.
