Approximately 60% of Ventura County residents age 16 and older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, according to the latest public health update,
The proportion of residents with at least one vaccine dose exceeds the California statewide rate of 39.1% for the same population. As of Friday, the county has administered 617,876 vaccine doses, an increase of 57,898 doses from last Friday. The data includes 407,516 first doses administered and 237,840 second doses, the latter of which represents 32.8% of residents age 16 and older.
In an effort to combat declining vaccination rates among Ventura County residents, county officials launched a public outreach campaign Friday with the Ventura County Community Foundation and the Complete Reach Committee.
