debt and we ll let you compete for our business. i think that s what is happening here. rick: but i m just wondering if we re out to try to boost u.s. manufacturing, if we re out to try to help the american worker, why wouldn t we keep a policy like this? i don t understand that part of it. for a couple reasons. because a loft those products there are companies that make a lot of money off of our government and doesn t necessarily give us the best price. let competition win. if our products aren t good enough, then they shouldn t win that business. it shouldn t be artificially inflated. for you and i as taxpayers, we want our country to buy the cheapest, most efficient products and if our manufacturers in this country don t do it, then they shouldn t win that business. rick: all right. this is something that s being negotiated, as you mentioned, through a trade pact that s being negotiated with foreign countries. we ll see how it works out. ed, thanks so much. great to see yo
