DADE CITY â In the center of the Hugh Embry Library in Dade City, some kale growing in cups of simulated lunar soil could be the key to human exploration of the moon, Mars and beyond.
âWe call our team Project Moonraker,â Shaina Smith said. âThat was just for us to make it a little more interesting for the kids. That was Ms. Lauraâs idea.â
Laura Covillon is British. Moonraker is a reference to the James Bond novel and movie, but this project is for peace and human well-being in space.
âI keep having to explain the reference,â she said.Â
