May 4, 2021 James Kon Two local men were found safe on Saturday, 17 hours after losing their way in the jungle near the Muara-Tutong Highway. The men were reported as missing by friends who said that they had ventured into the wilderness at 3pm on Friday, to gather palm shoots. Eleven personnel under ASO Metusin bin Haji Menudin were deployed to the area, together with a special squad, on being alerted at 12.36am on Saturday. The team combed the jungle perimeter, but called off the search efforts at 2.39am, due to dangerous conditions. At daylight, the operation resumed with the assistance of the Company ‘C’ Police Reserve Unit and two service dogs from the K9 Unit.
