A section of supporters are split on the best future direction of the stricken Shakers, expelled from the EFL back in August 2019 and put into administration last month. Not all are in favour of the phoenix club, Bury AFC, currently embarking on its first season in the North West Counties First Division North and playing its football at Radcliffe’s Neuven Stadium. A fundraiser set up by supporters’ trust Forever Bury to take the club from Steve Dale has also divided opinion in recent weeks.

However, in an address to the Derbyshire club’s supporters, David Hilton has said he “cannot proceed” with a deal for the Shakers, who entered administration last month. Hilton, who has put funds into the Northern Premier League South East Division club, is a director of Nottinghamshire firm Maxwell Cohen. He said: “I would like to offer clarity on a matter that has the potential to cause a little uncertainty or unrest. “After receiving many messages and emails recently regarding Bury Football Club, I can confirm that I have participated in discussions over recent weeks about potentially purchasing the club.
Italian jeanswear and sportswear label Jeckerson recently filed for a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) to settle its debt after a turbulent year amid the coronavirus pandemic, when licensee and longtime partner C&S stepped in to guarantee production and distribution.
The partnership between insolvent Jeckerson and C&S is a bright spot during a year that revealed strained relationships between brands and manufacturers. As Jeckerson’s official licensee in Italy and Europe, the company has been manufacturing for the brand since it launched in 1995.
“What ties us to Jeckerson is a history of excellence which began long ago,” C&S group said in a statement. “We have been taking care of their collections for more than 15 years, even before we became the brand’s licensee. Today as then, our commitment is to give value to the heritage of quality and style that has always characterized the brand.”
