The property, formerly the longtime home of Capitol Archives and Record Storage, has been used to house paper records, computer media and other materials.
U-Haul said it will offer high-tech security features and climate-controlled units.
“This will be a modernized, clean and convenient location for our customers,” said Will Cintas, president of U-Haul Company of Central Connecticut.
U-Haul did not disclose what it intends to spend on the renovations.
The location, which will be known as U-Haul Storage of Capitol Ave., will be operated by U-Haul Moving & Storage, which is located just down the street and across I-84 at 755 Capitol Ave.
