Workers do not lose jobs to workers from overseas. The president says he will revisit the order in 60 days. All of this comes as the number of deaths from coronavirus rises steadily each and every day. This morning, the number is roughly 45,000. That is nearly the same number of americans who died in battle during the entire vietnam war, while nearly 810,000 americans have been infected. We have reporters across the nation covering every angle. I want to go first to las vegas. My colleague Steve Patterson is there, where theres a debate over how and when to reopen. Steve, whats the latest . Reporter theres a big debate. First i have to report is just how unbelievably eerie it is to be in this city right now. The suns come up, but there are barely any lights. The bellagio fountains are dormant. So little traffic you could jaywalk during the day. Local leaders and experts are saying there may be no more metro area across the country that stands to lose more economically than las vegas. W
The market didnt bloing, no surprises about the growth in the economy and where the jobs growth may or may not be. Jobs number throw is on friday. That will be a big up, dont you think . It will be a big one. Thats the only area that hasnt really been performing well, real well. Weve seen modest improvements at best, and thats where the feds focus is ultimately on on easing or noneasing. Expectation is for job growth of about 160,000. Are you on par with that . I dont think youll see much of a surprise outside of there. If its to the upside, surprise maybe 180, 185, dont think anything too significant. How do you think the market responds . I think theres a continuation the way it has been. Going to be just a minor upward momentum in this markets and i think its just going to continue for a couple days here. Very good.
