let s bring in christine romans. give us a bit of a rundown on some of the companies generating jobs. well, a lot of excitement yesterday, actually, intel announcing upgrading a couple manufacturing facilities. this morning many politicians in oregon and arizona are excited about the construction jbs that are going to be created by that, and also by the longer term well-paid high-tech jobs that will be created by intel. but also bank of america recently announcing its going to hire 1,000 new small business bankers. creditors saying, cutting off a lot of small business lending. got to hire somebody, they cut back too much maybe. seasonal employees, u.p.s., 50,000. macy s, 65,000. other christmas and holiday related, packing, shipping, jobs created there, partly because they cut back deeply during the recession. they re starting to see what was a frugal fatigue turning into more careful and calculated
