4G is about to become a reality in São Tomé and Príncipe in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa, thanks to Unitel STP, which has announced that it has become the first mobile operator to launch commercial 4G services in the country, after receiving approval from regulator AGER.
Sao Tome and Principe’s incumbent provider Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicacoes (CST) has disclosed that it is awaiting clearance from the country’s regulator to deploy 4G services.

Sao Tome and Principe’s incumbent provider CST (Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicacoes) has announced the expansion of its fibre optic network to the north of the island nation.
