And welcome three familiar faces back for another term. First the incumbents. Mayor frank cownie. And Council Members Chris Coleman and joe gatto were all reelected. Cownie took 80percent of the vote in his race. Coleman took 73 percent. Gatto ran unopposed. For the first time in more than a decade there will be a new face representing ward two in northeast deses moines. Linda westergaard beat marty mauk by just two hundred votes. Shell replace bob mahaffey who chose not to run for reelection. Westergaard is a realtor and served as president of the Douglas Acres Neighborhood Association for sixteen years.
