Farm Life, Feeding the World and Future Farmers panel discussion for The Whiteside Forum

The Whiteside Forum will host a panel discussion on Sunday March 26th in the Community Room of the Odell Public Library talking about agriculture today. The title of the presentation is “Farm Life, Feeding the World and Future Farmers” and the panel will include: Kevin Larsen, Agriculture Professor, Sauk Valley Community College; Rachel Eissens, US Department of Agriculture, Morrison; Dr. Michael Selover, SVCC Ag. Instructor; Ron Lawfer, a dairy farmer from Kent who milks with robotic milkers; and Don Temple, our local Farm Bureau board president. The Odell Public Library is located at 307 S. Madison St. Morrison, IL and the program will begin at 2:00 pm. All Forum events are free and open to the public and audience participation during the question and answer period is encouraged. Historical objects expert Ralph Kennedy to speak at The Whiteside Forum

The Whiteside Forum will host guest speaker and historical object expert Ralph Kennedy from Mount Carroll, IL on Sunday February 26th at the Community Room of the Odell Public Library, starting at 2:00pm. Mr. Kennedy is the owner of Kennedy Furniture Conservation and he will describe to us the distinction and philosophical differences of Preservation, Conservation and Restoration of cultural and historical properties with some personal case study examples. The Odell Public Library is located at 307 S. Madison St. Morrison, IL and all Forum events are free and open to the public. These case study examples will include: a Chest of Drawers from the room where President Lincoln died, an elegant settee destroyed in a storage building, and a 1920’s Woods Brothers threshing machine. My Life at Sea: Pirates, Icebergs, Blowouts and Other Disasters by Capt Marc Adami for the Whiteside Forum

The Whiteside Forum will host Captain Marc Adami on Sunday January 29 where he will spin some sea stories of adventure on the high seas in his presentation “My Life at Sea: Pirates, Icebergs, Blowouts and other Disasters.” The presentation will begin at 2:00 pm in the Community Room of the Odell Public Library at 307 S. Madison St., Morrison, IL and is free and open to the public. Mr. Adami is a retired Master Mariner, a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and spent 28 years in the offshore oil industry working on exploration drilling rigs, drill ships, emergency fire fighting/dive support, and well testing vessels around the world. The World of Scuba Diving with Victor Selmon hosted by The Whiteside Forum

Victor Selmon, chief of operations for No Plans Adventures LLC, an adventure travel company will speak to The Whiteside Forum and all interested parties about "The World of Scuba Diving" on Sunday December 11, 2022 in the Community Room of the Odell Public Library at 307 S.
