Los Angeles County has awarded Santa Clarita more than $126,000 in grant funds to support organizations with innovative solutions to address the local homeless population. With grant funds available of $126,493, the city is now accepting applications from interested local organizations for Innovation Fund grants, according to a city news release Thursday. “The Innovation Fund is to be used by local agencies to develop innovative solutions that will assist in implementing the goals outlined within the Santa Clarita Community Plan to Address Homelessness,” read the release. Overall goals, which the Santa Clarita homeless task force has been working on accomplishing, include topic areas of preventing homelessness, subsidized housing, and increasing income and affordable/homeless housing.

City Of Santa Clarita Now Accepting Innovation Fund Grant Proposals The City of Santa Clarita announced Thursday the availability of Innovation Fund grants, a program established to develop innovative solutions to assist in the goals outlined by the Santa Clarita Plan to Address Homelessness.  The Innovation Fund was established after receiving $126,493 in funding from the Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative, according to the City of Santa Clarita.  Grant proposals are set to be evaluated on criteria including whether the proposal leverages community partnerships and seeks to implement the goals outlined in the city’s Plan to Address Homelessness. The city of Santa Clarita is accepting proposals now until Dec. 31 for the Innovation Grant Fund, a program established after recently receiving $126,493 in grant funding from the County of Los Angeles’ Homeless Initiative. The Innovation Fund is to be used by local agencies to develop innovative solutions that will assist in implementing the goals outlined within the Santa Clarita Community Plan to address homelessness. Grant applications are now available by visiting santa-clarita.com/Homeless and must be submitted to the city by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31 for consideration. Grants will be awarded to local organizations in amounts not to exceed $25,000 in an effort to allow multiple agencies to access the funding.
