NISKAYUNA – With just a little over a week to go until the Niskayuna Democratic and Republican committees must announce candidates to run in a special November election for the vacant town board seat both committees are still working through possible candidates.
The committees must let the county Board of Elections office know by July 22 whom they will support to replace Rosemarie Perez Jaquith after she announced she was resigning her seat effective July 1 because she was moving to Washington D.C.
The Democratic Committee is expected to meet July 19 to pick its candidate, said Denise Murphy McGraw, who is the chairwoman of the committee for the town.
