Extend private Healthcare Provider options for trouble accessing va services. This is just under two and a halfhour. [inaudible conversation] the committee will come to order. We thank all of you for being here and joining us tonight. Its somewhat unusual for the committee to meet in the evening hours for a conference we are staying up late for. I want to keep our work laser focused on the future and how we can Work Together to create a better, brighter healthier one for the Healthcare System rather than on rehashing the mistakes we made long ago. As we begin to move forward, we must not lose sight of where we started. Years ago, next month in this very room, the Committee Heard testimony from a veteran named barry coates who spoke about waiting almost a year for care at the department of Veterans Affairs facility of south carolina. He was finally seen long after he should have been. He was diagnosed for colon cancer that had spread to his liver and to his lungs. He passed away in janu
Program should be reformed in that direction, and i have also argued for a wage enhancement credit that would allow an individual to receive an extra 4 an hour because at least theyre working. The longer you are unemployed the harder it is to give reemployed again. We have offered a number of Innovative Solutions to deal with that. The government obligation is to create systems for individuals have fallen on hard times can get back up and try again. In some cases it is a lifestyle and in other cases system that traps you. We need to cure poverty and are not doing that right now. Thank you for your emphasis on innovation. I can tell you firsthand startups have trouble. Our local universities train a lot of foreignborn students, some of whom are undocumented, like i have been since the 1st grade. As president what would you do to help foreignborn students and dreamers like me who want to stay in this country and work in this country . I believe we need to pass immigration reform. I just
There have been open source pictures of the extensive nature of the buildup there your conclusion, i think, is right. This is not about simply propping up the assad regime but i think thats a component of it. This is a fundamental shift and i believe mr. Putin understands political math the same way i do. I view it as having to suffer for 15 more months, he views it as an opportunity for that same period of time. And hes heck bent on changing the dynamic. They will now have a foothold in the Eastern Mediterranean for the foreseeable future. Our secretary of state holds a meeting to deconflict airspace when the russians attack in the middle east. That is a remarkable change from whether it was eisenhower but you dont to go to a republican. It was a change from a consistent u. S. Policy, democrat, republican president s alike that said the soviets, now russians, will not have a foothold in will not be the Regional Power inside the United States and we now have the iranian russian axis th
Particularly at sections 101 and 102, which deal with residency slots, the use of provisions of regulations that we feel strongly that these would be a positive aspect to allow us to develop more residencesy programs in va to have the potential to recruit residents from those programs to provide care for veterans. I think also looking at section 300, which deals with additional provisions that put Network Directors and Medical Center directors under title 38 and allow us to be more competitive as we recruit in all localities and address complexity challenges that are facing a number of our locations, these are all going to be very positive actions that will help us i think be competitive in the Health Care Market today. Im going to join as a cosponsor of this measure. I think it is absolutely vital and i thank to thank senator tester for his leadership. Thank you, mr. Chairman. Senator rounds, followed by senator tester. Thank you, mr. Chairman. I just wanted to followup also on senato
We have a lot more time and more maturity in the airplane we have upgraded that list. The 80 number you heard at eglin, which was accurate, for the entire fleet today is about half that now. Thats not the best part of the story. Thats the whole fleet. The best part is the lot 6 and 7 airplanes were fielding today were improving today because of the things in the last two years, they are only seeing a handful of 1s and 2s everyday. And that 40 includes the 80 includes all the older airplanes that until they are upgraded, they are going to still have that issue but the newer airplanes, much better. The general has experience with the new airplanes at Hill Air Force base that they have been using. He might be able to tell you more. Those airplanes, maam, we have three of them up there. They have not lost a sortie since they delivered them. As we have delivered these newer airplanes, they are performing really well. Eglin still has older ones and struggle with the older systems the Program
