WINNIPEG The Manitoba government is boosting funding to programs that serve people with disabilities. Roughly $80 million will go toward helping service agencies pay higher wages to front-line workers, starting at $19 an hour.
The provincial government held a news conference Tuesday to provide further details about the $104 million in new funding for disability services announced in the March 7 budget, including more than $80 million to increase support workers' pay.
