Now its 6 Alameda County is apparently suffering a shortage of Health Inspectors allowing some restaurants to go at least a year without being checked out. The Health Department ended up shutting that restaurant down. But as kron 4 lezla gooden found out this county is understaffed and appears to be falling behind in inspections. Its here along the embarcadero were 54 yearold rodney jefferson. Was arrested tuesday after prosecutors say he hit 2 pedestrians and led police on a chase across town. Jefferson was arraigned thursday afternoon and pled not guilty to 2 counts of leaving the scene of an accident. Reckless driving with great bodily injury, evading an officer and driving on a suspended license. Cameras were not permitted to show his face in court. Authorities say tuesday mornings incident began with jefferson hitting one person while doing donuts at market in jones and then leading police on a chase across town during that pursuit.
