The late Susan Dunlap remembered
We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Susan Dunlap, Vice President of Community Impact for United Way Big Bend (UWBB). Susan began her United Way career in Tifton, Georgia, and joined the UWBB team in 1995.
Alyce Lee met Susan in 1995 when she joined the UWBB team while she was working at Big Bend Hospice, a United Way agency. Kelly met Susan the following year when she began working at Refuge House. Susan has always been somewhere in our nonprofit orbit.
Susan was a guru of the application process for agencies seeking funding from United Way. She was in the unique position of understanding the needs of people being served by UWBB agencies and the interests and priorities of donors who contributed the dollars used to fund services. Through changes in leadership, philosophies, and priorities, Susan was a constant. She was always fair, straight forward, and compassionate.
