A STRING of community heroes who went the extra mile in recent months have been recognised by a housing association. The 12 recipients included Caroline Smith-Dance and Megan Eccles, both of Ulverston. Ms Smith-Dance was a founder of the Ulverston Self-isolation Group set up on Facebook at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. A spokeswoman for SLH said she had been an absolute inspiration and continues to be generous to others – even buying people portions of fish and chips.
