The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has banned health workers including doctors, nurses, midwives, and Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWS) owed five months' salary arrears from sending emails to the agency’s Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr Muyi Aina. SaharaReporters gathered on Friday that the action was the agency's reaction to a report published by SaharaReporters titled "Over 2000 Health Workers Under Nigerian Agency, NPHCDA Lament Non-Payment Of Five Months Salaries."
No fewer than 2000 health workers including doctors, nurses, midwives, and Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWS) engaged by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) for the expanded Midwives Service Scheme (eMSS) across the country have decried the non-payment of their salaries and allowances since July 2023.
