Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts to distribute $73,000 in grants

A local group is calling on philanthropists who would like to preserve the natural beauty and protect the wildlife in the region.
The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts (CFNCM) is accepting grant applications for its Environmental Preservation and Animal Welfare Grant Program. The program, which is open to local nonprofits and municipalities, is aimed at preserving and providing access to the environment and enhancing the welfare of domestic animals.
“We’re looking for nonprofits that are trying to preserve the natural beauty of our region or provide more access to the public,” said CFNCM President Stephen Adams. “The other part of it is, we’re looking for nonprofits who are trying to support the welfare of our domestic animals our cats, our dogs, our pets. We’re trying to make sure that the qualify of life for our domestic animals is improved.”
