history of mankind and it came at a steep price, the price of the flood of the military who left the homes and family and communities to stand fast against those who would have gladly destroyed our government and way of life. memorial day isn t a day just to remember to get the mustard for the hotdogs or remember the community fireworks display. it s a day to remember that while we celebrate, many families mourn the loss of a son, a daughter, a husband or wife. dad or mom, brother or sister, who gave their all in order for us to breathe a precious air of liberty. most of us personally know someone whose flag draped coffin ought to serve as a stark reminder that the world is still with threats against us and those who stand between us and tear tyranny, wear the uniform of the united states of america and hope you enjoy a day off and maybe a picnic or ocean, that s fine.
