LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKJBT) La Crosse on Wednesday launched a new affordable housing loan fund to provide up to $800,000 in loans city-wide to developers interested in creating new affordable multi-family housing.
The Community Development Committee Tuesday approved polices and procedures for the program, made possible after the La Crosse Common Council approved $1.7 million in tax increment financing for this program, as well as one dedicated to the acquisition and demolition of blighted properties in distressed areas of the city to make way for new market-rate housing.
