The group used a matrix of cost, faculty-to-student ratio, and graduation rates to determine the value. The IECC has a tuition rate of $135 per credit hour, a faculty-to-student ratio of 14:1, and some of the highest retention and completion rates in Illinois. 20-year-old Fairfield resident Brandon E. Garrett, Jr., was arrested by Wayne County deputies yesterday on a Wayne County warrant for grooming. Garrett was taken to the Wayne County Jail and held, pending the posting of $1,020 bond. Jelley was charged with aggravated assault and felony criminal damage to property, and Morgan was charged with domestic battery. David Savage, with the Wayne County Senior Citizen and Community Center Advisory Committee, says the group has its sight set on a state grant to help fund the new center. The grant application for the 50/50 matching Rebuild Illinois Mainstreet and Downtown Capital Development grant is due by Christmas, and the committee hopes to raise $750,000. In addition, the Lions Club has a matching grant of up to $200,000, the committee could request TIF money from Fairfield, the IECC could contribute, and individuals can make donations. The Fairfield Police Department received a complaint against a department member on October 6th, claiming an officer used excessive force during an encounter with a woman on October 2nd. The complete investigation, including officer-worn body camera footage, was presented to the Wayne County State's Attorney and Fairfield City Attorney and resulted in no findings of excessive force by police.
