the whole thing while it was going on. i thought we had done a pretty good job of trying to keep them out, boarding up before, they were going to go down but they got in anyways. it was just devastating to sit there and watch it happen. that was more of the damage done in ferguson and the destruction left by hundreds of protesters, looters, those arsonists out there. now, the victims you just heard from in that clip are also in our audience tonight. mohamed jakub and the delwood market owners where here mohamed, start with you. tell us about your business. how did you get start sed? you know, we ve been serving the community a very good business. we have a lot of thing in the business, meat it s a meat market. a butcher shop. butcher shop.
so, many of the neighbors were saying, you put up boards on your windows. it s not considered a big deal. the houses are really close to each other. and it looks like the house next door, i mean, it s got both the houses have a lot of boarded-up windows. pretty much every house on this street has a boarded up window. neighbors were saying they may have seen interesting things along the way. but they never thought it would lead to something like this. and obviously, that woman believed that if police had taken her call more seriously, this may have unraveled sooner. she says they should have taken her call seriously. it was unusual to see a naked woman in the backyard. when they called over there, the suspect, she claims started yelling at the woman. it was one of those moments where you feel very uncomfortable. appreciate your reporting. we re going to be talking to a number of people from this community a little later on. we ll talk to a detective from the police departmen
ahead of time. they released screeners for tv critics to review. that s how some people in newtown learned about it ahead of time. the local paper there in newtown, connecticut credited a critic with tv line with giving the community a heads up and they ran a story ahead of the episode warning parents what was coming. but you know that wasn t enough for some of the newtown residents like parent of a student at the school who survived the shooting. he spoke with cnn this morning. here he is. we have no problem at least the parents i have spoken to that they aired an episode that had a school shooting. it s reality. it happened. it happened here. it happened at columbine. it happened in many other places. what s really upsetting is that no one, none of the producers reached out to the town of newtown to let us residents who are so close to this know that this episode was airing. you know, fred, it s a little bit of a tough line for producers and networks to walk here. on one hand you
