Talk to you about our world war i exhibit. The United States did not actually enter world war i until 1917. On the eve of war, lynchburg was a happening and exciting place. There was an electric power, a trolley system, ulcers of things, a new simple a Municipal Park system. Sent about 3000 soldiers to world war i, about 10 of the population. Before these soldiers went to was the Home Guard Union called the mustache unit was called the musketeers. We have one of their baseball uniforms. The musketeers spent some time in texas in 1915 and 1916. When they werent training or doing maneuvers, they played some baseball. Here is one of their uniforms.
