Lynchburg police and other Law Enforcement seized about 58 pounds of marijuana. Multiple vehicles and 65 thousand dollars. 58 year old Randall Simpson was arrested for possesion with intent to sell, give or distribute more than five pounds of marijuana. Hes being held without bond. 36 year old David Johnson was arrested for similar charges and is being held with a ten thousand dollar secure bond. Police continue investigating danville. Scene overcome with emotion. A total of 42 people are homeless at this hour. I asked the fire commissioner if there were working smoke alarms and he did not know at this time. But here is the commissioner and one of the residents that had to get her family up and out of her home. We dont know where the fire started yet because four dwellings we had to get the fire marshal in there to do an investigation right now to determine the origin and cost. When you have four dwellings, it takes time to determine which house the fire started in. I was asleep in the bed and i had seen the fire, so what i did was i just woke up and just grabbed my kids and the fires were just spreading, and spreading across they were just everywhere, house to house, everywhere. I dont know. I had to wake up and bring my kids out and just get out. A shelter has been set up at the high school, and some family members we could see breaking down right in front of us. Four children killed in the fire, i am told four others were injured, they suffered minor injuries, and they are in the hospital, and 42 people homeless. The fire commissioner did not now how the fire or where the started fire. This was a fastmoving fire, according to neighbors and the fire commissioner. Right now i will bring in a person with the American Red Cross. You have been helping the families and first responders. This is a sad day for our community. We lost four children. Anytime there is a death due to fire its significant for our community. I cant tell you how hard this is on first responders, on our volunteers, but most importantly so we have been providing spiritual care, Mental Health care to address their immediate trauma, but we also set up a facility at Bartram High School physical needs.
