City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved lease agreements for two long-standing tenants in buildings owned by the city.
The agreements covered the Victor C. Leap Commonwealth Office Building, located at 230 Chestnut St., and a portion of the lower level of the City Building occupied by the offices and courtroom of Magisterial District Judge Samuel Pendolino.
The Leap Building will continue to be leased by the structureâs sole tenant, the northwest regional office of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. City redevelopment officials have in the past described the 63,000-square-foot building and the jobs housed there as âcritically important to this community.â
