PLYMOUTH For the second year in a row, Plymouth will not have a public celebration of Independence Day.
July 4 Plymouth Inc. has announced the annual parade and fireworks are canceled for 2021 because of the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The way things are going, we don’t think CDC or state guidelines will permit such a gathering,” said Jeff Metcalfe, a member of the committee. “We were hoping we could do it, but it’s just not practical this year.”
Due to long lead times for organizing the parade and scheduling fireworks, the decision was made to announce the cancellation now.
