Here are the latest school streets proposed for Sutton A batch of 12 new ‘school streets’ could be introduced in Sutton this autumn. Consultation is currently taking place on the new schemes, which ban driving outside of schools at drop off and pick up times. There are already 14 in the borough that were introduced in September 2020. Sutton Council will consult on the new schemes until Sunday, April 3 followed by another consultation in the summer. If approved, it is expected they will go live in Autumn 2021 and would mean those driving through the zone at school drop-off and pick-up times will face a £65 fine, rising to £130 if not paid within 10 days.
