ALBANY Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced Monday night that she is seeking a third term.
The mayor broke the news in an interview with the Spectrum news program Capital Tonight, and then sent out a press release, with a lengthy campaign video attached.
The video caps off with local elected officials and others saying Hey Kathy, I m with you, with Sheehan then responding to the camera Hey Albany, I m with you.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan made it official Monday: she is running for a third term.
The Democrat and former city treasurer released a campaign kickoff video, saying the challenges of 2020 led her to seek a third term next year despite past suggestions she would serve two.
Sheehan s campaign released a statement and video including endorsements from city officials once considered possible 2021 primary challengers, including Common Council President Corey Ellis and Chief City Auditor Dorcey Applyrs.
