The Minnesota Historical Society in cooperation with the Common Bond Communities, a non-profit provider of affordable housing and services in St. Paul, will combine formal and informal learning about history and citizenship in the Somali Skyline Tower History project. Skyline Towers is a public housing project that currently houses several hundred new Somalian immigrants, a significant new population in Minnesota. The partners will recruit and train young Somali women in skills of oral history collection and technology to begin to document their community's immigration experience.
