Organisers say the yacht's crew are uninjured and will continue in the race after their vessel was struck by lightning as incredible pictures of huge storms and hail are captured around the state.
Almost 50 vessels will race in the milestone 75th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, with organisers confident the risk of wild weather won't send the event off-course.

Older faces like QCYC Vice-Commodore Harley Cowlishaw s will be aboard Hasta La Vista , with Peter Harburg entering his Supermaxi Blackjack while race newcomer Stefan Ackerie will have Stefan Racing enter the fray.
