Hornell had a “seat at the table” Wednesday as a New York State Conference of Mayors’ committee studied police reform, post-retirement earnings and civil service reform during NYCOM’s Spring Meeting and Training School at Lake George.
Ahead of the three-day conference, NYCOM President Richard David, the mayor of Binghamton, appointed Hornell Mayor John Buckley to the organization’s Employee Relations and Public Safety Policy Committee.
Buckley, a Republican and a former Hornell deputy mayor, is in his first term as mayor after serving four terms as a 9th Ward alderman. He is also a former deputy mayor in the city.
