Providing multiple examples of what differentiates Penn State from peer institutions and how access to world-class researchers impacts the lives of Penn State students, Lora Weiss, senior vice president for Research, presented an overview of the University’s research enterprise today (Feb. 18) during the Board of Trustees meeting of the Committee on Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Life.

Photo by Sylvia Jarrus | The State News The Michigan State Board of Trustees will hold their second meeting of the semester at 8 a.m. on Friday via Zoom. Following a report by President Samuel L. Stanley Jr. and public participation, Interim Vice President Douglas Gage will present the Gift, Grant and Contract Report for the approval of the board. This comprises 767 gifts, grants and contracts in addition to 11 consignment/non-cash gifts totaling over $193 million for the period of Aug. 14, 2020 through Nov. 16, 2020. In fiscal year 2020-21, gifts, grants, contracts and consignments totaled over $375 million.

Board of Trustees to meet on Friday, expected to approve new plant modernization project The Hannah Administration Building on Sept. 20, 2020. The last Michigan State Board of Trustees meeting of the semester will take place at 8 a.m. on Friday via Zoom. Following the approval of the agenda and approval of minutes, President Samuel L. Stanley Jr. will give his report.  Assistant Vice President for Research and Innovation Doug Gage will present the Gift, Grant and Contract Report. Between Aug. 14 and Nov. 16, there were 767 gifts, grants and contracts in addition to 11 consignment and non-cash gifts that total over $193 million.  Speaker Emilio Moran, Hannah distinguished professor, will give a research presentation titled: Innovative Solutions for Off-Grid Communities: Food, Water and Energy Challenges in the Amazon Basin.
