Iraq presented this Saturday, May 27, a project to build a road and a railway linking the Gulf to Turkey. The project, valued at $17 billion by the Iraqi government, is still in its infancy. The first shovel of this 1,200-kilometre corridor has not been given. According to Baghdad's wishes, the road and railway will have to be carried out in cooperation with countries in the region: Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Syria, Oman, Jordan, Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
