Science is based on finding the truth and acting accordingly, though the situation may keep changing, as seen with the Covid-19 pandemic. One has to adjust flexibly to recognize and accept the real position and overcome the emerging problems making best use of the available resources.

The Covid-19 pandemic in the Western province is now under control with small but manageable clusters emerging from time to time which is inevitable in a situation where society is ‘open’ with people getting about their day-to-day chores, a senior health official said.
The number of positive Coronavirus cases have dipped to a daily average of around 500 with the Western province contributing only about 20% to 30% to the overall figure, says Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director of Public Health Services.
With figures relating to positive cases now static, there’s an improvement in the situation in the province.

Several private sectors companies have pledged to contribute Rs. 10 billion towards the government’s efforts to procure new vaccinations developed in the world to contain Covid-19 in Sri Lanka, a senior government medical official said.
Taking the lead in the endeavor is Brandix Lanka Limited, where a coronavirus cluster erupted at its Minuwangoda apparel factory last year.
These companies are prepared to financially support the President in a big way to help procure the vaccinations to protect the population from the raging virus, said Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva, Secretary of the Ministry of Primary Health Services, Pandemics and COVID Prevention.
