Care for ouro children, they have to be paid more. To pay them more is going to we increase the payment rate. It is also going to require greater investments to strengthening the supply of childcare. This is especially important in light of the requirements in the law. Put it isal to hard to find. To act would provide funding expand it. One more recommendation, we need investments in Early Education and state prekindergarten programs. We will send more details. Questions from members of the committee . Thank you so much. We invite robert up. He is among a group of employees trying to establish the united workerss unit at the mississippi plant. According to the uaw, large numbers of the workforce are temporary employees who work for years earning significantly lower wamgs and benefits. He worked at nissan for two years. Works in the Nonprofit Sector that has a contract, i assume, with the city to be able to give advice on how this would impact nonprofits that would fall under this category. I just want to reiterate, just because our office did spend quite a bit of time putting together a policy that impacted many of our employers, the fair chance act which i coauthored with supervisor malia cohen, that was a tenmonth process to put together the actual specifics of what the fair chance ordinance would look like, and this is how it actually impact our employees in not doing the background checks at first application. And because of the length of time it took to meet with all of our stakeholders and make sure that we were taking everyones input into our ordinance, for me i guess why i would push on why we should pass this now and get the process started is that in order for a tenmonth process to work out between now and september, we really need to get the equal Pay Advisory Committee going in november.
Department of women and status. If this ordinance just knishates the process and sets the equal pay Advisory Board who then over the next couple of months go through the process of getting all of this input, specifics on how we can treat nonprofits, how we can treat organizations with 20 to 50 employees or 20 to 100 employees, how we can treat larger organizations that may have a greater capacity to report, all of this will get worked out in the next several months. And the actual date by which we request these reports wont be until september 2015. So, i think being that this ordinance just sets out the process, i think that its important that we start it as early as possible so we can give maximum time to the process to make sure that we can maximize our input from our stakeholders and make sure that we have a really good process in place by september by which we can collect this really important reporting. Women deserve to be paid for the work that they do and they deserve to be paid
The iraqis fought back. The Prime Minister went to the joint Operations Center to order the immediate counterattack the minister of defence organize available forces and the commander during the attack. The tribal volunteers organized support it in some cases led the attack. Today there back in the hands of these terrible forces i was there last month i would say all americans would be proud to see what our troops are doing helping the iraqis but this is only the start antilebanon will remain a substantial issue but any part of the invincibility has been shattered. It is not invincible it is debatable and is being defeated by iraqi forces to take back their towns and cities and ultimately their country to support United States and the coalition. And the aura of the socalled caliphate is destroyed and the future is very much in doubt. Because we lack the same kind of partners in the ground the situation is more challenging and complex but were still working closely with regional partner
Injustice by turning the tide in Law Enforcements favor and helping those who are trying to combat these terrible, heinous crimes to succeed and help the victims of these crimes restore their lives. And so i appreciate the good work of the senator from texas and others who have been involved with this and would just urge my colleagues to end this shenanigans the charade going on on the floor of the United States senate and lets get this bill passed and on the president s desk. Mr. Cornyn mr. President can i ask how much time remains in our allotted time. The presiding officer there is no time limit. Mr. Cornyn i thank mr. President. I express my gratitude to the senator from south dakota but weve neglected perhaps the most important person in this process and thats the senator from iowa the chairman of the Judiciary Committee who responded to a letter written by all 20 senators in the United States senate asking him to have a hearing on this important topic and to move this bill forwar
