hunted percent sure. it has been noted that the six most chilling words ever uttered i m not getting in that car, by mike pence. it was pretty storming. with donald trump having offered a rant, here is how denver riggleman responded to his comments yesterday. i think part of that fortunately gillette or you saw, which was part of his program of relentless radicalization and a letter which could have been written by rudy giuliani, sydney powell, jenny thomas, phil waldron, qanon adherence themselves he s really trying to get oxygen back into where he is back in the media. i think that is with us subpoena might have done. peter, is there reason to believe that the subpoena is going to rile up trump s face? he s going to be riled up no matter what. the committee isn t too worried about that.
they did not represent him or the his political views in any form or fashion. so the question now is, where does the committee go next? they ve hinted they want to reach out to members of the trump cabinet who were in and around the white house on january 6th, what their motivations were for staying or going. many resigned in the wake of january 6th. then there is the question of ginni thomas. we know she was in contact with people like mark meadows and john eastman, the conservative lawyer. what the wkmiet te committee is with is how involved she was in certifying the election and whether her husband was involved in that. the committee isn t ready to make that declaration or take it that far. they have a host of other things they re concerned about that maybe be a bit of a bigger
ginni thomsthomas, they won t hesitate to look into her more closely. we hope she ll agree to come in voluntarily, but the committee is prepared to contemplate a subpoena if she does not. it is very important for us to speak with her, and as i said, i hope she will agree to do so voluntarily. i m sure we will contemplate a subpoena if she won t. reporter: there s no doubt that thomas has been resistant to that voluntary cooperation that cheney was talking about. she didn t say she would come and speak in a public setting on terms that were made up by her. the committee isn t interested in that. we ll see how this process plays out, ana. of course, it would be a big step for the committee to subpoena the wife of a sitting supreme court justice. they certainly aren t ruling it out, but it doesn t appear they re on the doorstep of making that happen soon. ryan nobles, thank you very much for the updates. for more on all of of this now, we re joined by former federal prosecutor mic
shows donald trump s kind of arrogance. he just thinks he s above the law. he s going to continue to do this stuff day in and day out until merrick garland does the right thing. and i m pleased the to see the committee has developed so much evidence now against donald trump, you know, far beyond what that federal judge said back in january when he said it s more likely than not that donald trump has committed various federal felonies. and, phil, back to your point that there s supposed to be one more hearing next week, but the committee isn t ruling out more hearings later this summer. what does the committee want to be the big takeaway? it seems like all of the hearings have been building and building and we re learning more about what trump himself was doing, the actions he was taking, the actions he was directing on the part of his allies. and that s the through line through the hearings so far. so, i assume that the committee s goal, the strategic game, is for the big takeaway
say what you want to say, but i do want to point out that we have not talked about ginni thomas and her role in all of this as the wife of a supreme court justice. go right ahead with your thoughts. i just want to bring those two together. we talked about him whining. mccarthy was whining about the committee, the entire republican apparatus, those who voted against him, the existence of a republican party. we can go on, and on, and on. we understand that people like jenny thomas, these people, they want power. they want to be in control. they want to drive policy. they have been trying to say this committee isn t even legitimate so this goes way beyond jared kushner. he is simply speaking the same way they are thinking. people are sitting at home watching right now and your friends, your cousins, your friends, people are saying we have to enact this, this, and this. let me be very clear, they are
