In the late 1970s savvy San Francisco businessman Warren Simmons dreams of building an urban park along the citys underdeveloped waterfront. October 4, 1978 simmons dream became a reality. When he transformed his dilapidated cargo pier into pier 39 and eclectic collection of Specialty Shops restaurants and attractions.
