Mr. Wilson, i want to get back to you. In september 2012, icba survey found 55 of bankers decreased their Mortgage Business or stopped providing higher priced Mortgage Loans and higher priced mortgages that took effect in 2010. I wondered if your bank still does offer an issue mortgages and if so, have you decreased the number of mortgages because of regulatory uncertainty . Yes, sir. Most all of our mortgages would have fallen into the higher priced mortgage and we do not have the staff capabilities to escrow insurance and taxes. Again, the last few seconds, thank you so much, all of you for being here and we do want to figure this out. We need to clean this up and ultimately i want to see Community Banks that are vibrant in our communities again and with that i yield back, chairman. The chair recognizes the gentleman from colorado. Thank you, mr. Chair. Somebody mentioned the incredible cost of dodd frank to the system, but i just want to start that before dodd frank in the summer 20
Deferring to this week, trying to make the process slightly better. I certainly appreciate in spite of the fact we dont have a full presentation, i appreciate the presentation hes going to make. Mr. Secretary. Well, mr. Chairman and Ranking Member corker, it really is a pleasure for me to be back before the Foreign Relations committee. During my time here we have some things right. We certainly wound with up wishing we had done things differently. Most of us would agree and i saw it during both parties chairmanships including the years senator luger and i were here that this Committee Works best and makes the greatest contribution to the Foreign Policy and our country when it addresses the most important issues in a strong bipartisan fashion. This is one of those issues. The chairman and the Ranking Member both said that. This is one of the moments when the bipartisan approach really is critical. As you know, the president is committed to engaging with the committee and all of your col
The out of cost pocket insurance is going high. I dont know whats happening with new york. Everybody needs to create a p. O. Boxer for new york to get low health care costs. We will be going shortly to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Secretary of state john kerry is expected to testify on isis. Also, earlier we could hear about the release of the cia report. The report on the cia about their interrogation techniques. Well take a few more calls before the Senate Hearing begins. San antonio, texas. Catherine, go ahead. Thank you. As a spanish person its really an eye opener. Let me tell you something. I came here 40 years ago. The country was so different. There was not this division that it is now thats been driven by so many people. I sit here and i watch this. I think to myself this is the country that i came from. They come up here. They lie to you. They get away with it and they take our money. There is no repercussions for these people. We as the American People need to cla
Chapman, lor lorenzo goco, trecd genif, michael neblet, michael pezner, Caroline Tess and james wolf. And finally david granite, who has been a neverfaltering staff director throughout this review. Madam president , this study is bigger than the actions of the c. I. A. Its really about American Values and more or less. Its about the constitution, the bill of rights, our rule of law. These values exist regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves. They exist in peacetime and in wartime, and if we cast aside these values when convenient, we have failed to live by the very preseptembers that precepts that make our nation a great jaun. There is a r twhee carry the banner after great nation. So we submit this stud on behalf of the committee to the public in the belief that it will stand the test of time and with it the report will carry the message never again. I very much appreciate your attention and i yield to senator mccain. You can see the report. Up next, well would hear
With partners to provide humanitarian need for the desperate situation of millions in the region. We look forward to working with you, mr. Secretary, on our mutual goal. Welcome you back. Thank you. I want to thank the secretary for being here. In fact, im pretty sure this is not where he would like to be this afternoon. I thank you for coming before the committee. I want to thank the chairman again to try and set up a process this week that was thorough. That has not occurred. I think everyone understands, some of the things we will discuss are obviously like the ground yet, we have no defense presentations here. We have no intelligence presentations here. I want to say, on the syrian half ago e year and a were authorizing something that was, these are my words, one last 10 hours. We were able to go through a process that was much more serious than the one we will have this week. I think all of you will know, what passes in the committee this week will not become law.
