government shutdown at the end of the week without a deal. and the president tweeting the democrats just don t seem to want border security. they re fighting border agents recommendations. they are not offering much for the wall. they look to be making this a campaign issue. the wall will get built one way or another. not backing down there. i think the operative part of that is they re not offering much for the wall. we re hearing information coming ouout of this bipartisan commite that maybe 1.3 or $2 billion will be thrown in there for fencing or a wall. with real restrictions. that s problematic for supporters of the president who believe the commitment to 5.7 billion which used to be 20 billion was the throwdown to build this wall. whatever they come out with wopt be satisfying to either side, which is a compromise. but if you re the president, you re committed to this and you have the opportunity for a national emergency. we ll see. let s see what they present.
states senator os on the commite who are undecide about how to view this and the committee matters. how is this clarity? he was asked you appear to believe accusers the accused more than accusers. he said when it comes to roy moore, he didn t like him. that is revisionist history to be kind. he went down and campaigned for roy moore three days before the special election. i didn t like roy moore either. i know the president was for roy moore. i was one of the first republicans to come out against roy moore. i heard what he said today and i understand the way he treated it. this is a completely different issue. are we going to listen to dr. ford or not? he said we re going to listen to hear and see what she has to say and let her answer the questions we have for her. that s a perfectly legitimate point of view. governor.
totally out of bounds. maria: i guess it s important to note that paul ryan was at your meeting on friday night because we haven t heard from the leadership in terms of this issue aggressively for sure, and then we did have a mment from treyowdy a month ago which basically questions whether or not the fbi did everything right. so the fact that paul ryan was there on friday night, is this an indication that the leadership in the house are becoming more unified with the commite chairman? yeah, i think it is. if you look at i think both the chairman gowdy and speaker ryan have been giving the fbi and department of justice the benefit of the doubt. i have not been, as you know. my patience has run out. i believe that they had leaked they created massive leaks. we know that from the i.g. report. maria: we have a shot of that do we have a graphic of all of the leaks you want to put up. i have the i.g. report in front
investigation. well, that obstruction of justice investigation is never going to go anywhere because it is such a hard case to make. you cannot indict a president for obstruction of justice for actions that he took that were legal at the time like firing a personnel. difficult case there. they ll say about the collusion, oh, there is been some kind of criminal collusion and would have been leaked because of what s voinvolved in the commite that hated trump. it never really takes effect in any criminal way or leading to impeachme impeachment. whether it is right or wrong about that, that s not what they see in this case. michael cohen knows all of trump s most private information. he knows of his children and he knows about his marriages and his organization and he has been the keeper of secrets for donald trump for many years. and now the federal prosecutors have everything that he knows. including some recorded
capitol hill, where there is tension to say the lease between the senate judiciary committee as well as the senate intelligence committee that are running their own investigation into russia. as senator grassley spoke, paul manafort snuck in and out of the senate side and was able to meet privately with senate and intelligence commite members this is not sitting well is between six, and one senate democrat is saying, it is time for some hardball tactics. i am convinced that subpoena will be necessary for paul manafort as well as for donald trump, jr., and for everyone who participated in a june 9th 2016 meeting. those opinions should include not just their testimony before the judiciary committee but also documents. there is another key player to keep your eyes on it in advance of this public hearing
