County board approves use of fairgrounds for rummage sale

At its May 25 meeting, the Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners approved use of the county s fairgrounds for a rummage sale, hosted by the Cheboygan County Humane Society, for the first weekend in June.
Cheboygan County Administrator Jeff Lawson said the county received the request from the Cheboygan County Humane Society to host its annual garage sale at the fairgrounds. It was his recommendation to approve the lease agreement with the humane society, to allow the rummage sale for the weekend requested. Last year, their event was canceled of course, said Lawson. So I think they plan on having two this year.
The Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners approved agreements Jan. 12 between the county and several surveyors to continue the county s grant funded remonumentation program, which marks boundaries of properties."This is our yearly renewal of agreements under our remon contracts, for our grant this year," said Cheboygan County Administrator Jeff Lawson.The amount the county received in 2020 for grant funding for this program was $51,430.
